Fine Art Painting Commissions: Collaborate with Artist Lana Chromium
A successful commission is a collaborative journey between the artist and the collector. As a professional fine art artist based in San Diego, I believe the key to creating unique, personalized art is open communication and shared vision. Together, we will bring your ideas to life through a creative and customized process.
Step 1: Discussing Your Vision
The first step in commissioning a piece is understanding your preferences. We’ll discuss your desired subject matter, colors, and design to ensure the artwork aligns with your vision. For example, we’ll consider details like the colors of the room where your commissioned painting will be displayed.
During our discussions, I will present selections from my art portfolio that match your ideas, helping us fine-tune the style and aesthetic you prefer. These consultations allow us to define your likes and dislikes about color, design, and theme.
Questions for Collectors:
What is your overall vision for the artwork?
How do you envision the final piece?
What colors and tones do you prefer in your space?
Are there any specific symbols or characters you would like to include?
Step 2: Deposit and Project Details
To secure the commission, a 50% deposit is required. This non-refundable deposit covers the cost of materials and my creative time. Once the deposit is made, I will begin working on concept sketches.
Shipping: As a San Diego artist, I offer worldwide shipping. Shipping costs are covered by the collector, and I’ll provide an estimate based on your location and the preferred carrier.
Step 3: Concept Approval and Progress Updates
Once we have discussed and finalized the concept, I will present 1-3 pencil sketches or rough compositions for your approval. This ensures that the direction of the painting aligns with your vision before moving forward with the final piece.
Throughout the painting process, I will keep you updated with regular progress checks. Halfway through, I’ll invite you to review the work-in-progress so you can see my artistic vision unfolding and make any adjustments if necessary.
Step 4: Final Artwork Delivery
After the painting is completed, the final piece will be prepared for worldwide shipping from my studio in San Diego. Rest assured, your custom art will be safely packaged and delivered to your location.
Ownership and Copyright
While you will own the final commissioned artwork, the rights to reproduce the art remain with the artist. Written permission is required for any reproductions.
